Scripture Focus: Acts 1:16, 20
"Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David... For it is written in the book of Psalms..." Cowboy Wisdom: Breaking in a young colt takes time and the right touch. You can't rush it, and you can't muscle your way through it. Try to force a green horse to do something he ain't ready for, and you'll end up eating dirt—or worse, you'll break that horse's spirit and ruin him for good work. The smart horseman knows that breaking isn't about breaking at all—it's about building trust, one patient day at a time. You start gentle. You stay consistent. You let the horse learn that your voice means safety, that your hand means guidance, that your presence means protection. Day by day, that wild colt becomes a steady mount you can trust with your life. The Word of God works the same way in us. It's gentle but firm, shaping us for the work ahead, smoothing out our rough edges, teaching us to respond to the Master's voice. When you're desperate to hear from God, when you're pacing and fretting and wondering why He's got you waiting, start with the Book. More often than not, your answer's already there, written down in black and white. I can't count how many times I've wrestled with God over something, spending days or weeks trying to figure out His will, only to finally open my Bible and find the answer staring back at me from the page. I only wished I'd started there instead of ended there. Would've saved myself a lot of sleepless nights and fool mistakes. The Word breaks us in gentle, if we'll let it. But we've got to show up and let God do the work. Reflection: Peter and the disciples studied Scripture while they waited. Through prayer we talk to God; through Scripture, God talks to us. When you're waiting on God, are you spending more time talking or listening? Daily Challenge: Open your Bible today expecting God to speak. Read a passage slowly and ask, "Lord, what are You saying to me through this?" Write down what you hear. Prayer Focus: Father, Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. As I wait on You, speak to me through Scripture. Give me ears to hear and a heart ready to obey whatever You say.
