Scripture Focus: Acts 2:39-40 "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself. And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation!'"
Cowboy Wisdom: Every cowboy knows that the herd follows the lead steer. Your young'uns are watching which trail you ride. They're learning from your example whether they realize it or not. The decisions you make about following Jesus don't just affect you—they affect your children and your children's children. You can't make your kids love Jesus, but you can sure point them in the right direction. And you can pray that God calls them to Himself, just like He called you. Peter made it clear—this promise of salvation isn't just for the people standing in front of him. It's for their children, for people far away from God, for everyone the Lord calls. That means there's hope for your family, your friends, your neighbors. But Peter also urged them to "be saved from this corrupt generation." Living for Jesus means swimming upstream. It means being different from the world around you. And when you do that faithfully, your family sees what real faith looks like. Questions for Reflection:
Prayer Focus: Lord, I pray for my children and grandchildren. Draw them to Yourself. Help me live in a way that shows them Jesus is real and worth following. Give me opportunities to share the gospel with those who are far from You. Amen.
