They'll Think I'm All Talk

Day 3: "They'll Think I'm All Talk" - When You're Worried About Your Reputation

Scripture Reading: Exodus 4:1-9 "Then Moses said, 'What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may say, "The Lord has not appeared to you."

Trail Talk: Moses was worried about his credibility. "What if they don't believe me? What if they think I'm just spinning tall tales?" So God gave him some mighty impressive signs—a staff that turned into a rattlesnake, a hand that turned white as snow then healed, and the promise to turn water into blood.

We all worry about what others think. Will they respect us? Believe us? Follow us? But here's the deal: when God calls you to something, He backs up His calling. Your job isn't to convince folks through smooth talking—it's to be faithful and let God handle the rest.

Campfire Questions:
  1. What fears about your reputation keep you from doing what God's asking?
  2. How has God already shown His work in your life in ways others can see?
  3. What would you attempt for God if you knew you couldn't be laughed out of the saddle?

Prayer Round-Up: Pray for the grit to obey God regardless of what the crowd thinks. Ask Him to help you care more about His approval than anyone else's opinion.
