Scripture Focus: Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8 "And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
Cowboy Wisdom: The old Rangers knew that rushing into dangerous territory without proper preparation was foolish. They'd scout, plan, and wait for the right moment to act. A Ranger wouldn't ride into hostile territory without his Colt revolver loaded and ready, and he sure wouldn't go chasing outlaws without knowing his horse was rested and able. he disciples understood this too—Jesus told them to wait in Jerusalem until they received the power they needed. They didn't try to evangelize the world on their own steam. Sometimes the hardest part of following God is the waiting, but it's in the waiting that we prepare ourselves for what's coming. Just like a cowboy checks his gear before a long cattle drive, we need to make sure we're equipped with the Holy Spirit's power before heading out on God's mission. Those who rush ahead without it end up running on empty halfway down the trail. Reflection Questions
Daily Challenge: dentify one area where you've been trying to do things in your own strength. Commit today to stop striving and start waiting on God's power to work through you. Spend 15 minutes in prayer, simply listening for God's direction. Prayer Focus: Lord, teach me to wait on Your timing and Your power. Help me resist the temptation to rush ahead in my own strength. Clothe me with power from on high so I can be effective in the work You've called me to do.
