God’s Perfect Timing
Scripture:
"Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate; and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there. While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, 'Behold, three men are looking for you. But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself.'" - Acts 10:17-20
Cowboy Wisdom:
Just as Peter's vision ended, Cornelius's messengers knocked on the door. Coincidence? Not a chance. That's like saying the sun just happens to rise every morning. God orchestrates every detail of His plan with precision that would make a championship cutting horse look clumsy.
God prepares both the messenger and the receiver. He tenderizes hearts through circumstances, plants seeds through His Word, and brings people together at exactly the right moment. When we look back on our salvation story, we can see His fingerprints all over it—the people He brought, the timing of events, the way He drew us to Himself. Think about your own journey to Christ. There were likely people who came into your life at just the right time, circumstances that softened your heart when you needed it, and moments when truth broke through your defenses. None of that was random. God was working behind the scenes, moving all the pieces into place. He does the same thing when He wants to use us to reach someone else. Our job is to stay alert, be available, and trust that when He opens a door, it's time to walk through it.
"A good cowboy knows you can't rush a herd. God's timing is always perfect—not early, not late, but right on the mark."
